In advertising firms, one of the most important departments of all would be of course the media department. This department is very important because it is the department that would deal with the mediums in which they will be putting all of their advertisements. Of course one of the most crucial jobs of this department is none other than media buying new orleans.

Now the tasks that these buyers would have to do are not easy at all because they need to have a very deep understanding of how the media industry works. Now for those who do not know, the companies in this industry would sell airtime to clients or ad space wherein the clients will be able to put their ads. Now the middlemen between these companies and the clients would of course be the buyers.

Now the basic job of buyers is to simply know what airtime slot to buy at really good prices. Now the first thing that they would do before they would make the purchase would be to research first about the offers that the media companies would offer. After they have done sufficient planning, then the negotiating process would start.

Now before doing any purchasing, one has to first go through a process of planning so that he will know what to buy. First, he has to know what type of audience he would want to reach and what type of medium can reach that kind of audience. After that, then he should make a study on the behavior of the audience in order to know how to place the ads.

The through the research, one will be able to come up with the pattern of how the viewers would act when they would see ads. Now if one would carefully study the behavior of his target market, then he would know the best time to show the ads. Of course he will also then be able to know how frequent he would have to show the ad.

Now if one has already determined the patterns of the target audience, then he can determine which medium to use. Now one can choose from the four types namely the print advertisements, the radio advertisements, the net advertisements, and of course the television advertisements. It is also the job of the buyer to know the rates of each medium and create a budget.

Now once one has already gone over the rates of all the mediums, then one will now make a choice of which to use and create a budget as well as a schedule. In a nutshell, this schedule is simply a list of the mediums that will be used and when. Included would also be the rates and the times in which it will be shown.

When all the preparations have been done already, then the last part would be the negotiations. Now this is the tricky part because one will have to negotiate with the media company to get the best deal that there is. He would have to use a little bit of negotiating skills in order to get some deals or some discounts along with the package.
