To outsiders and beginners with no real knowledge of the internet in general, something like article marketing can seem extremely confusing and exceedingly difficult. However, once you learn how to properly approach the business, you will learn that there's nothing complicated about it at all. Use this article to help unravel the mystery behind article marketing.

If you want to raise your chances of your article being found by searches, don't make the mistake of publishing it in more than one place. Far better to publish it once, under a single URL, and linking to it with tags from other locations. This is because Google's way of ranking pages in searches is based on the number and quality of links to a single page. The more times your page appears, the more places those links will accumulate, and the weaker your search results will be.

When trying to market your articles, make sure that they are of a reasonable length so that search engines can find them much easier. Try to keep your articles' word counts down to 500, or at most, 700 words. more than that will dissuade a lot of readers because they will consider it too long.

Avoid using "marketing language" within the article itself. Articles should focus on some aspect of your market in general rather than directly pitching a product or service. The place to get your marketing in is in your short call to action at the end of the article. If the content of the main article is congruent with the call to action, the reader is more likely to buy.

Consider including images with your articles, in order to attract more attention. Images can immediately draw the eye and incorporating them in your articles is a guaranteed way of getting the articles noticed. However, just be careful that you don't use copyrighted images or images for which you don't have the rights.

Keyword research tools are powerful aids in any article marketing campaign, but they should not be purchased. While keyword research tools and services are available for sale - most costing over 100 dollars - the experienced article writer does not need to spend money. The free tools available online (many from search engines themselves) are more than adequate for the article writer's needs.

Be sure your articles read like articles and not ad copy. If your articles read like a sales pitch, article directories will reject them. You should not mention your product or brand multiple times. Some article directories require that you only mention a brand or product once. Sometimes it's best just to mention it in the resource box and not in the article. Looking at what other authors are publishing out there is a great way to help develop your article marketing campaign. You should always avoid plagiarizing anyone's content, but you also need to see how the experts are getting through to their respective niche via the content they write and distribute.

As an entrepreneur, increasing the size and scope of your business will allow for more customers and ultimately more profit. Using the article marketing techniques that you learned here, you can effectively drive traffic, and expand your business to the size you had always hoped and dreamed your business would be.
