Two way radios can both transmit and receive signals allowing the operator in having a conversation with another operator at the same frequency. They usually operate in a way that you cannot talk and listen at the same time and a button must be pushed when you want to talk. This operation is called half duplex while full duplex mode allows you to simultaneously talk and listen such as mobile phones

Half duplex radios are being used by most business establishments because of their longer battery life lasting for twelve hours on average and their durability. Hytera two way radio could be bought and let your employees use them during their working hours. The following are some important tips when these devices are used in communicating with other workers.

Be prepared on what you are going to say because when you pressed the button, no one else can be heard except you. They cannot interrupt you during this time so you have to say your message immediately so that others can talk as well. Pressing it for a long time without speaking will block a possible emergency communication from transmitting and drains your battery faster.

Identify yourself first then the person intended to receive the message immediately when a transmission has been initiated. This is done in getting the attention of its recipients first among the many users sharing the same channel. They will acknowledge then that you have their attention so you can start talking regarding your message.

Patiently wait for their response before sending your call once again because they are probably doing something of importance at the moment. After the button has been pressed, pause for a moment before speaking due to short delays being possible during transmission. The first words would probably be cut so wait for a second before you speak which helps for the full message to be received.

Keep your transmission concise, clear and short so that others can either acknowledge or request for clarification before saying your next point. They would usually repeat what you said so that you will know they heard and understood it. Otherwise, they would be asking you to repeat yourself so they can listen to what it is again.

Manners are very important when communicating to another personally but this can be dropped as not to take time in the radio. You could say thanks sometimes but being polite is not necessary when communicating in this device. Some terms are used as a code which everyone using the radio understands and helps in shortening the message intended.

Conversations are not private always and other people might be able to listen on the things being talked about. They are probably connected also to the frequency you currently are in so discussing private maters is not recommended. Code terms can instead be used to add security special those codes specific to your company operations only.

Do not forget to always charge the battery of your device properly so they can be used when needed. Assign someone who would be responsible for charging all devices after the day ends so that they are ready the next day. Or it can be the responsibility of the individuals using them.
