If you have been planning to buy new cell phone, you will surely have a problem on selecting the network you want to have. Some of your choices can be either LTE, CDMA, WiMax, or GSM. So for this reason, it is very important to know the differences between these networks.

A very simple statement to explain this is in the 4G, the G means generation this is because this type is a fourth generation in a mobile data technology. While the Long Term Evolution or LTE is a type of a wireless broad band which is improved. The purpose of this article is to provide ideas about some differences in GSM 3G 4G LTE antennas.

First is GSM or Global System for Mobile Communications. It is a type of cellular network in which the phones will connect through searching for any cells in the area or vicinity. Cells have different sizes in this network and these are micro, femto, macro, pico, and umbrella. Its area of coverage will be highly dependent on the implementation.

Micro cells can often be seen as being utilized by the urban areas and its antenna height is under the rooftops in an average level. A pico type is smaller and the diameter of coverage area is a few dozens only in terms of meters. It is often being installed indoors. An umbrella type is often utilized to cover the shadowed regions of a smaller cell and to fill up the coverage of a smaller cell.

Second is 3G. This is a short term for third generation and this is the third generation in the technology in mobile telecommunications. The basis of this are the standards that are used in the devices and the telecommunications are using networks and services that comply the specifications provided by the International Telecommunication Union. This type is being applied usually in phones internet access, video calls, wireless voice telephony, fixed wireless internet access, and phones TV.

The ITU did not give some clarifications concerning on the data rates the users are expecting when they will be using 3G equipment or provider. And due to unverified details, the users who are trying to sell this service are not able to point the standards, resulting to not meeting the specifications. The data rates include interface modes that qualify as 3G, minimum required rate, and required average rate.

Third is 4G or fourth generation and this succeeds the 3G. The applications of this would include IP telephony, high definition phone TV, 3D television, mobile web access, gaming services, and video conferencing. This refers to the IP packet switched network which gives the mobile an ultra broadband access or gigabit speed.

Fourth is the LTE or the Long Term Evolution. This is a standard utilized in a high speed wireless communication for mobile phones and for data terminals. The capacity and speed have increased due to different interfaces of radios utilized together. This network was formerly marketed as 4G LTE but not being able to acquire the 4G wireless network criteria as LTE advance.
