Are Women Better Car Salesmen Than Their Male Counterparts?

As long as most of us can remember, car salesmen have a reputation for being slick and dishonest. Many movies portray a car sales person as tricky and deceptive. There are several dealerships that have gone a long way in changing this belief. Traditionally, car salesmen have made a living from the commission of the sales. If there were no sales, then there was no way that you could earn a living therefore making it necessary to find it by any means.

Over a long period of time, the old adage Let the buyer beware has been in use. The thing behind this was that you had to be on the lookout when buying a car for your own interests.

While it's true that most car salesman are not that way, enough are to make most people looking for a car to be wary. There are several types of sales people ranging from smooth operators to straight to the point type of salesmen. There are others that don't tell if not asked. It's also true, that their women car salesman as well as men. Do women make better car salesmen?

It is a fact that many women are not for the idea to find a car using a salesman. However, they are less apprehensive when the salesman turns to be a woman. After all they reason she must understand what I'm going through.

In addition, most women have a softer approach. This draws people rather than sending them away making women sell more. Women are just better listeners. Women want to be listened to. Many women would rather talk to another woman.

Another consideration is the put down most women feel when the male salesman says "shouldn't your husband me with you?" Women salesmen do not do that. This does not happen with women salesmen. They suppose you are in the know of what you want when you come to the lot to get a car. In addition, most women salesman has been through that, know what it's like, and do not want to treat other women the same.

Women trust other women. They feel that they understand them much better. Empathy is crucial in sales. Sales is really about emotion. Women know how to use emotion much better than men.

A lot of men are okay dealing with women salesmen. The thought process is that she can't know more than them, therefore they feel less threatened by a woman. This comes to an advantage to women salesmen who just want to earn a real payday and do a good job.
