Los Angeles Arrest Records are maintained by local police departments and sheriff's offices in Los Angeles. You can submit a request at either agency if they do have the files you want to acquire. If they do not, try looking at the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General. You can also submit a request there and they will redirect it to the exact agency that has the files you want to acquire. There are fees that you need to pay to get the files. Fees are non-refundable even if the files you requested for are not found.

Arrests are recorded even if it does not result to incarceration. If you are proven not guilty of the crime you got arrested for, the record will not be revealed to the public. Some of the information will be included on the record is your name, address, the crime you are charged with, when and where you were arrested, and the name of the arresting officer , amongst others.

Any member of the general public are given the right to access arrest records because they are deemed as public records. However, there are guidelines that need to be observed as to how much information can be obtained and how they can be used. You may request your own records if you need it to apply for a job, file an adoption, or you just want to check if the pieces of information included on the records are accurate. If you find any inaccurate information, you can appeal to the agency that has your records to have it fixed.

Access to other individual's documents is also permitted but there is a stricter protocol. There are only a handful of people that are allowed access to them. Arresting offices are allowed to do so. Employers are given access because it is important that they are given the right tools to carefully pick who they hire. Landlords are given access so they can have a better idea who to accept and not to accept amongst applying tenants. Individuals who wish the criminal background of the person they are about to marry are also allowed access.

Arrest records can be obtained from online service provider too. If you look over the Internet, there are several of such service providers that specialize in maintaining and providing them to the public. However, not all are reliable sources. Before you choose which one to use, conduct a background check on their business first and see if they have a reputable track record.

The California Department of Justice also allows access to californiaarrestrecords. You can also get the files from online search tools. Simply supply a person's full name to begin a search. To speed up the search, supply other important details like their birthday, address, and their job, amongst others. Do not forget to indicate your contact details so the Department of Justice will know where to forward the files.
