As matter of fact, concrete slabs are porous and prone to corrosion and degradation is exposed to harsh and wet climatic conditions. They normally get corroded and stained easily. Permeability to chemicals, slats, and liquids is what cause these conditions. However, when a sealer or sealant is applied on their surfaces these conditions are eliminated, reduced or reversed. These protective blocks the pores on the slab surface which makes the surface impermeable to liquids. This application is made possible when a concrete sealer sprayers is used to make the application.

According to research and recommendations from cement manufacturing companies and dealers, exposing these slabs on moist condition, freezing and thawing activities will rapidly deprive their ability. They also react with alkali-silica, intrusion chemicals as well as from steel reinforcement corrosions. These sealants are found in different types in the market.

The orthodox methods that have been used include the use of wax and linseed oils. They offered a protective outer layer for the surface. However, due to advancements in innovative technology other more effective sealants have been developed to offer maximum protection. Tropical sealants are one of the modern sealers applied. It is good to note that these sealants require a clean and dry surface for optimum functioning.

The other type use is the penetrating sealer which offers not only protection but strength and durability as well. It provides a good barrier in moist and dry places that provides a barrier for the concrete that shields against chemicals without changing appearance. It should be matched with the surface's porosity so as to allow the reaction to effectively take place to form a blocking film.

There are different elements and compounds that are used to make these sealants. They include acrylic resins which form films on the surface of the substrate. They are also found in both solvent and water-based formulas. Urethane systems that have similar characteristics as those of acrylic. Another element is Silane a smaller particle and effective in making penetrating sealers. Silicates is another element with a small molecular characteristic.

Silane is another compound used in the manufacture of these sealing materials. They have small particles characteristics and are ideal when penetrating sealants are required. Another element used in manufacture include silicates which have the same small particle characteristic. Materials with medium size particle characteristic include Siliconates. These compounds are water repellent, oleophobic and hydrophobic. These characteristics make these materials to wear once the substrate has is completely worn out.

The device that is used in the application of these protective covering is known as a sprayer. There are various methods that can be applied to endure that the spraying is efficiently done without causing damage to the equipment. The proper equipment is first chosen and the manual instructions should be read. Once completed, the appropriate protective covering is then chosen.

Choose the right sealing material that adheres to the instructions on the pump. If the device requires either solvent or water-based sealing material, use the recommended material. Proper cleaning, storage, lubricating and maintenance is important so that the functionality of the device is maintained.
