The worst neighborhood to live in is a noise one. Take a case, settling with your family near a construction site. There is to much light going around, earth shaking vibrations, heavy traffic turning and bangs the size of lightning strikes. Such conditions are unbearable and for a fact, few will desire to dwell in such places. This is essentially why we have drilling noise control measures to address these problems.

Drilling operations use heavy and sophisticated mechanical equipment. These equipment generate the dreaded noise. From top drive, shale shakers, cooling air systems, pipe handling, draw work, air and fluid power systems, metalwork, hammering, mud pumps, fork lifts and trucks. Just to mention. This could go on for nights, weeks even months. There are cases where such construction takes place even in the summer when all people want, is to relax.

The easiest of the ways to reduce commotion is to get the right equipment to use for the purpose of drilling. Technology has advanced in a great way helped in the reducing of this squeaking. This equipment in away have been modified to mitigate the commotion problem. They include, sound insulation containers fitted in the hydraulics, draw works, generators and air compressors. Roughneck iron fittings, also do help in the pipe handling.

The science behind the new rig is phenomenal in commotion prevention, a must have for a commotion friendly company. It uses an automated pipe handling system and minimizes the noise caused by elevators. It is internally fitted with vibration dampening fittings that prevent vibrations that can arise. This rig is completely covered with sound proof material which includes the motors and pinions that are noisy in nature.

The whole concept of transportation is an issue also. Transporting with the least of noise is the key. The time to transport is at night because their is no much traffic. Trucks used do make a lot of commotion and below are some of the ways to reduce this. Switch of the reverse beeps, insulate the steel gratings and compressors. Finally, silence the depressurizing vents and instead of too much hooting resolve to flashing lights.

The other option is the use of preventive sound walls. A time the rigs and the drills cannot be technically fitted in a manner that reduces their commotion. For that reason, the sound walls can be fitted round the rig. These walls should be 2 meters high and 10 meters long. The material used should be insulated and strong enough to withstand vibrations.

Talking to your crew also does play a part. They need to taught on how to reduce the noise pollution. They are the sole users of the equipment provided and in a way they should know how to minimize noise. Set peak limits to guide you on when to act in order to address commotion pollution. Avoid shouting and whistling, running empty shakers and tactically reschedule the noisy activities to daytime.

Drilling as a whole is diverse. There are a number of choices you could use to reduce the commotion. Get to use the best option that works with your budget and activity.
