Printing equipment are known to cause problems when you least expect it. However this does not always have to be the case. An individual who is ready to take care of his printer and properly maintain it will ensure that it does not cause too many problems. He will however need to be in a position to troubleshoot the common problems that may arise.

A major problem that is commonly experienced is the failure by a printer to turn on. This may be caused by a loose connection problem. You will need to check the connection at the power socket so as to confirm that it is okay.

Paper jam is another problem that may arise. When this happens, do not try to force the paper out as it may damage internal components such as the roller. Manufacturers will at times include a hatch at the back to help release the jammed paper. Check the manual for more details.

Errors may be encountered when an individual is in the middle of an operation. The type of error that has been encountered can be determined by checking the type of alarm or beeping sound that is being produced. Reading the message displayed on the LCD screen will also be of help.

Communication problems may also arise where the operating system is unable to communicate with the device. In order to fix this problem, you need to check the cable running from your printer to the computer. It has to be firmly attached at each end.

Print outs could also come with a color misalignment. Often, this is a problem that may be dealt by changing the device properties. This can be changed by accessing the control panel from your computer and following the provided instructions.

You may also find that there are other problems that are noticed on the print outs. Such problems may include poor color quality. This may be an indication that your ink cartridge is running slow. For grainy photos, be sure to check whether the source is okay.

You may also notice that the printer returns a black page after providing a command for it to print a particular document. Check the document to make sure that it had content. You may also want to confirm that the process was not interrupted in any way before it could be completed. This will help deal with the blank page problem.
