Steps In Becoming Certified Backflow Tester

To strengthen the protection of public health, the state of Michigan requires professionals to pass certain requirements. It is stated under Rule 1405 which is all about backflow preventers as well as qualification for testing and corrections. The exams for initial and recertification takers have one difference. That is, the number of items in written exams. For initial takers, written exam has a hundred questions. Meanwhile, the recertification has only twenty five items. It is because initial takes has to be more comprehensive than recertification.

On the other hand, they are similar in the practical exams. In this section, they need to do demonstrations involving field testing. They must successfully assemble vacuum breakers that are can hold pressure and resistant to spills. Also, they must assemble double check valve and pressure principle.

Note that the aim of the certification is to increase professionals who can protect the state water supply. Programs are created in order overcome the challenge in having credentials that are embedded in the standards. Their skills are enhanced in assembling, surveying, and repairing. As a result, they increase their employability and credibility to hiring service companies.

They can enroll for training course in ASSE approved schools. Currently, there are fourteen schools that accept applications for ASSE Certification 5110 across the state. The individuals can look for a school closest to them when they visit the website. Though, they do need to pass their applications at least two weeks prior for the school to prepare the right amount of source materials.

The ones who benefited from the certification are water supplies and residents of Michigan State. Governing bodies like ASSE and the government highly regulates the industry for proper works on the systems. Moreover, income will easily flow for these certified professionals because of companies wanting to hire them or because of their independent consultancy.
